Dorothy Marie March was born near McMinnville TN and was the oldest of ten children.
She majored in music at Tennessee Tech where her career began to take shape. After working the nightclubs, she cut her first record with Starday Records, then moved to Atlantic Records for a short time before Jim Reeves helped get her signed to RCA where she scored 37 Billboard singles.
Her success in the 70's came with United Artists which whom she finally was able to achieve several number one records and CMA vocal duo awards with Kenny Rogers.

Dottie passed away as a result of a car crash in 1991, she was only 58.
